Crown the lost - Blind Faith Loyality-CD (Cruz Del Sur Music)

Yet another strong Power Metal band from the USA. This one from Pittsburg PA. On the Traditional Metal label Cruz Del Sur out of Italy. There are thrash movements going here that remind me of The more German Thrash movement but the Vocals and Melody of the Guitars and very sung vocals are a dead ringer for a lesser known band by amazing in there own right Heir Apparent.. There is a Fair Warning feeling going on as well. So I would agree with placing them in a Prog Metal area too. This is not simple 4 chords hardrock. I call this Think Mans Metal . I love the complex bass and guitar arrangements and the very mixed up time changes with the drummer. The vocal has the very powerful out spoken metal vocal style that bands like Queensyrche and Sanctuary used. There are even the momentary Growls going on which work well with the tracks over all. I you miss late 80's / early 90's Prog/ Power metal movement. Thne Crown the Lost is your dream release.

Ensoph - Rex Mundi X-Ile-CD (Cruz Del Sur Music)

Ensoph simple thank you for keeping the electro metal scene going with kick ass original material. This takes the best elements of Samael, The Kovenant, Within Temptation, Orphaned Land. As the mix Gothic, Eastern Sounds with heavy beat driven metallic elements. I love the Black Metal like vocal mixed with the sung male and female vocals and the spoken moments. Ensoph is an odd band to be on a label that normally works with Classic/ Thrash or Power Metal.
A times it even has elements of DHG, Ephel Duath and Ayreon . This is not a band that will take you 1 ,2 or even 10 listens to fully understand. Its move art meets music were both are just as important. There shows must a spectacle to witness. So many heavy band are afraid to add the beats and electronic elements as too seem happy or pop in style. Ensoph is as aggressive as any out there and heavy as a wall of pain. This will not leave my player for weeks to come. BRAVO!!!!!

Forgotten Souls - Nine Syndromes-CD (NIJA ART)

There is something about Poland and Metal music it was like Peanut Butter and Chocolate . Its just seem to go perfect together. Forgotten Souls are one twisted unit of sounds and barrage of electronic, Death Metal and Symphonic Rock. They like to mix elements of Melodic Death metal like Inflames & Soilwork but then mix in elements of bands like Oxiplegatz, And Oceans and now Havoc Unit. They stay more true to the Death metal sound a lot of the times but mix in good amounts of the Prog, Symphonic and Electronic elements in each song. The vocals go from the Deep Goth vocals to the Death/Black Growl/ Screeches. I can tell if its a mix of programmed and live drums or the triggers and samples are just that good. I've never heard of this Polish label Nija Art but is the is how there coming out the gate to the world market then were in for one hell of a ride. Forgotten Souls will not be forgotten by this review for a good long while I can let you know.

Gnaw- This Face- CD (Conspiracy Records)

Welcome to the world of nightmares, torment and noise rock !!!! From what I'm reading here the vocals are done by ex Khanate vocalist and you can feel the J. Plotkin feel even to the music as this reminds me a lot of Plotkin last mind assault KHLYST maybe sisters in the same sonic battle cry..... If you were to say where this was coming from mix Swans, Neurosis, Khlyst and many AmRep bands like Jesus Lizard, Tar, Janitor Joe & Surgery and you would have a good start on what This Noise Doom/Drone/ Sludge force is creating. Gnaw are just Loud and In your Face kind of pissed off. I'm getting a feeling that Khanate's split was not a pleasant one just from the output of this project and Khylst. remember the lower east side NYC noise rock movement this would have been right at home my friends. Coming home form one of this events I will bet you feel a bit cleansed. This Face should have a warning listening to this album in its entirety may cause violent mood swings and outburst. Take only as needed. Fuck Ya Gnaw crushes all in its path Amen Brothers!!!!
